Hi. I am bored and do not have a hangover so IF YOU DIDN'T GET ART from me last night because I got belligerent and passed out early, you have a brand new chance for stuff that doesn't suck! 8D

Paypal is liz.carlson@gmail.com, don't pay until it's your turn, first come first serve, etc. Profiles only, but subject matter is otherwise up to you.

Since I get questions about this a lot, and lately with increasing frequency for whatever reason... figured I'd clear this up a bit.

Commissions:

I very rarely take commissions, for a variety of reasons. If my job situation changes in the future, this may change as well, but for right now, I work full time and simply don't have the time, energy, or inclination for a "second job" of sorts when I get home. I'm a lazy soandso.

If I do open commissions once in a blue moon, it will usually only be for 3-5 slots at a time because again, lazy soandso. The information will usually be posted in this journal, or in some of the LJ communities I frequent (if you're looking for WoW art, the best ones to watch are wowladies or wow_fanart).

Otherwise yeah, just assume that they're closed unless you're a close friend or someone I talk to all the time or whatnot (then they're pretty much always open OOOH double standards look at me go!)

Trades:

That all said, I LOVE getting art of my characters! Gift art pretty much makes my whole dayweekyear and I enjoy it in any form.

Thus, trades I'm a bit more flexible on, with the agreement that you too will be flexible with time restraints. I'm not going to keep you hanging on for months and months, of course, but I work when the inspiration hits, pretty much. Forcing art yields shitty results from me.

Not quite sure how to put this delicately, but if you're interested in a trade with me, I like to get back what I put in. If you're expecting me to render you a complex, full-color piece and you're a beginner artist who's still very much practicing and hasn't gotten out of some of the learning stages yet... I'm gonna be less inclined to want to do a trade with you. Again, I try not to judge by skill levels since all of us started somewhere and my own stuff is far FAR from very good by a lot of standards, but please don't be offended if I don't have the time or inclination right then.

Additionally, I generally only do trades with people for fandoms or character themes I'm already interested in (Warcraft, nagas, some well-designed OCs, etc.). I don't draw fandoms or situations I'm unfamiliar or uncomfortable with, so.

Requests:

No.
Stop sending me these. It's incredibly annoying. I get about five per day, and not even from people who comment on my stuff. I appreciate the heads up but if you love the artists that you watch, you'll do the right thing and not sent it out to EVERYONE on your list.

Taking down my open commission notice for now, as I've got some still on my plate, some still interested, and school starting in a couple of weeks.

However, if anyone is interested in small, quick things like cell phone charms, keychain badges, or LJ icons, I can bust those out no problem so feel free to contact me on those. I just can't do big commissions for now.

Looove you guys :]

Sup guys, I know you are all poor from Anthrocon but...

Working on a couple of commissions right now, and I'm visiting :iconjessnumbuh20: at the end of the month so I could use some extra moneys so. Throw cash at me k. ILU.

Examples of any of the below are available on request.

Real Media:

Sketch - $10
Inked Sketch - $20-25
Colored Pencil/Marker - $60

Digital:

Sketch - $15
Inked Sketch - $25
Color - $50 (cel shaded $40)

All prices above are for single-characters. Extra characters are 50% of the total price added on (I.e. if you wanted a digital color piece with two characters it'd be $75, real media sketch with two characters would be $15, etc.)

Backgrounds are a case-by-case basis. Usually you'll get a simplistic one anyway but for more detailed scenes they're $10+, we can discuss it.

Other Stuff:

LJ icons - $10 or 3 for $25

Reference Sheets - $50 base price for front and back shots, subject to adjustment depending on what you're looking for

Plain Badges - $20 usually done in real media unless requested otherwise, laminated

Cell Phone Charms - $15 for one character or $25 for two on the same charm

Keychain Badges - $15

---
I prefer paypal, but will take cash or concealed check/money order too. I do the half upfront/half when it's finished deal, with frequent check-ins for progress.

Feel free to leave a comment, send a note, or tackle me on IM if you're interested.

---

All completed keychain/charm commissions should be in the mail by today or tomorrow, sorry if I've been delayed on getting anyone's out.

Incidentally these are the things I most prefer to do right now and will have the fastest turnaround time. LJ icons too. So yeah :D

Goodbye subscription, I will miss you T_T

Okay, but in other news, I am still poor. conomy sucks sooo hard right now, finding a job for the summer is impossible D: Askjdfhd. So while I'm still applying and waiting for callbacks like mad, I have mooore to offer you.

Behold.

Precious, are they not? I will make you your very own ittybittyteeny little cell phone charm of your character for $15, provided that they are not too ridiculously complicated.

I can string on an additional character (a mate? a friend?) for $25 total, like so:

So yeah. Note me if you're interested! I prefer paypal.

EDIT: Links fixed! Whoops. Thanks guys.

Keychain Badges

Hey kids! So I'm home for Spring Break this week, and have no means of completing my digital commissions since my computer, tablet, scanner, and all that other fancy stuff is left at college.

But! I do have access to the means to make some cute new badges I came up with while lurking through Michael's, haha.

They are small, circular keychain badges, slightly large than 2" in diameter, enough to fit in the palm of your hand. I am offering them with custom artwork or any character you would like, along with an optional name.

They will be done with markers and colored pencils, though if you want to wait for me to get back to college, I can also render them digitally.

These are great to clip onto lanyards, collars, belt-loops, or whatever else as badges, since they come with jump rings attached, or you can use them as keychains! I dunno, they're fun.

Here are some examples, please excuse the crappy quality, I had to take them with my mom's cheap-o digital camera while I'm at home, but they give you a good idea of the size:

[link]
[link]
[link]

So yep. If you want one, I'm bored and free this week! They are $12, which includes shipping. I prefer paypal, but will also accept concealed cash/check.

My paypal is liz.carlson@gmail.com.

If you're interested, please drop me a PM with your character reference/any relevant information, and whether you want your character's name on the badge or not. I would appreciate payment upfront, if you're using Paypal.

Digital commissioners, no worries! I will get back to your stuff as soon as I have access to my regular comp again.

Thanks!

Okay, thanks for the interest in commissions! I got a couple of notes but unfortunately they filled up over at FA pretty fast so I'ma have to replace this journal for now. I will let y'all know if school lightens up anytime soon and I can take on more.

In other news that applies to a much smaller group:

Guys, stop ruining the Avatar fandom with your shipping wank. Stop being smug jerks about what's happening, what you THINK might happen, nobody knows except the creators and they're not going to show you how it goes down until the end.

So just...shh. Play nice, damnit. Both sides >:|

Commissionsss Tentatively Open

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Sup guys. So school starts next week and I don't really have much money for books/supplies, boo. Thus, I am opening for a few commissions!

And when I say a few, I really mean only a few. I currently am working on one already for Ace Bearpaws and I know I tend to get quickly overwhelmed with school, so unfortunately I can't get too crazy here. I just need a little extra cash.

Right now ideal things to commission me for are single-character pieces with little to no backgrounds. I can always do other stuff, but this is pretty much what will get done the fastest. LJ icons are also always welcome.

SO yeah. Here are my prices reposted from an old journal, just as a refresher. Right now I would love it if you used Paypal only. Please leave a comment or note me if you're interested and what you'd be interested in.

I'll take this journal down when I have enough interest.

Real Media:

Sketch - $10

Inked Sketch - $20-25 (depending on complexity)

Colored Pencil/Marker - $50-60 (depending on complexity)

Digital:

I usually just take stuff already drawn and inked RL and color it on the computer in a variety of style for these, so...

Color - $40-50 (again depending on complexity! I may lower or raise it beyond this)

Miscellaneous:

Conbadges - $20 - Bust shot, with name. Inked and colored with markers and colored pencils, laminated. See my most recent entry for more info about these, as well as cheaper alternatives.

LJ Icons - $10 - For one, partial shot of your character, colored digitally. I'll do three for $25. Text can be added if you want.

Reference Sheets - $50 - Front and back shot of your character on a simple background, text may be added by me or you, or none at all. Cel-shaded. Optional expressions or detail shots for $2 extra each.

Other Stuff:

Extra Characters: Add 50% of the total price (so a $10 sketch would be $15, a $60 piece would be $90, etc.) I may be able to negotiate a little on this.

Backgrounds: $10-15 depending on complexity (most pieces come with fairly simplistic background anyway)

What I'll Draw and How you Pay:

I can draw pretty much anything, humans, furries, animals, whatever. Mecha, cars, and other technological crap is not my strong suit so probably no on that front, but otherwise we're generally okay.

My pricing is pretty flexible so if you're interested, just send me a description/references of what you're looking for and I can give you a pricerange.

I accept payment through concealed cash, check, or money order, or Paypal (preferred, address is liz.carlson@gmail.com).

Okay, all icons should be done and sent out to their commissioners. Thanks for the speedy and generous response, guys! I'll probably open up either more of those or some larger commissions for real-reals uhh... maybe in January? After the holidays (which are coming up oh so fast, oh gooood please go away, finals, I want to be home).

ANYway. As a bit of an aside, I need a secondary fursona (god that word...) to go with my boyfriend's character :3 Skade is fun and I love her and am not getting rid of her, but she is not necessarily "me", so. I need a character with more snark and squish!

I'm a little up in the air about what species to go with, though. I'm leaning toward sooome sort of caniform, I think. Anyway, if you have a free minute, go pop over to my new poll and tell me which way you think I should swing? :D If it helps, my bf's character is a tanuki/raccoon dog.

Danke!

Have a Happy Non-Denominational Winter Celebration of choice, all!

Small Commissions!

Sat Nov 17, 2007, 1:53 PM
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Hi kids! Okay, so here's the deal. I'm poor as hell, and while I have a part-time job, I'ma need some moneys for the upcoming holidays. Now, unfortunately because I'm a student (an incredibly busy) student), I don't have time to do large, full-scale commissions, which is usually what people are after. I'm sorry, but it just ain't gonna happen right now :(

What I can do with reasonable speed and enjoyment are smaller 400 x 400 digital portraits that can easily be made into LJ/FA/DA/whatever icons.

They come out looking like this or this. So what you get is essentially a 400 x 400 portrait, usually with two or three smaller 100 x 100 or 50 x 50 icons (suitable for DA). Text, colors, etc. are optional. I'll usually just do up a few I think look nice and then let you do your thing with the results. You can also just resize the original 400 x 400 image too, if you like. It's yours, do whatever you want with it :)

Right now I'm going to price them at $10 each, or 3 for $25. Discount! They take me a little bit to do, so :) If you want one, I would really prefer that you use PAYPAL only. My account is liz.carlson@gmail.com.

For now I'm going to open ten slots. If you're interested, please fill out the form in the comments or a note, send the money transfer, and I'll get right to work!

EL FORMO --

Name: (of your character or you, whatever)
Reference: (I would really prefer it if you have a pre-existing reference, I don't care what shape it's in, but I will work from verbal descriptions if necessary)
Expression/Mood: (happy, sad, generic, seductive, etc.)
Text: (if any, otherwise just leave it blank)
Color Scheme: (usually for use in the background, if you don't care just leave it blank and I'll make something up)

And I think that's it! I can do anything you'd like. Humans, furries, whatever :) If you want two characters in the same icon, throw in an extra $2 in the payment.

Thanks guys, much appreciated!

Hey guys, if I offered icon (preferably) or small portrait commissions, would y'all buy? I haven't done batches of icons for a while so I don't know if there's still a market for them with everyone and their mom offering them now.

I don't have time for big commishes, but I do need to make a little mo-nay on the side, and icons are enjoyable and relatively quick.

Or any other suggestions 8|

Durp, Painter and Halloweenystuffs

I know a lot of you kids have or have tried Corel Painter :1 Did you buy it or acquire it through uh... less legal means (info plz wtf)?

I'm dying to try it, I always see such fabulous results with it, and I know you all clearly want to watch me fumblefail my way through learning it :3 I didn't see a demo version on the website, but maybe I is blind, they must have one. Though they're usually equipped with stupid blocks such as not being able to SAVE anything you do. EDIT: Durhurr, found the demo, I'll have to try it when I get back from work. Assuming my computer doesn't crash and die.

Anyway, boo sorry for the lack of art as usual, guys. School is kicking my butt. I do have a Halloween-ish picture that I hopefully will get done tonight to share, but no guarantees. It might be a little late (it's more of a creepy-ish thing than traditional Halloween, but apparently I only have time for like, one art per month now so wtf).

Uhmm. That's it. ILUguys :D Whatchoo doin' for Halloween?

Skeee, it's autumn! Which means I get to use my Punkin!Skade journal header again. Yes, that seriously is pretty much the entire point of this post.

Ugh, I'm so swamped on schoolwork and RL commitment, guys. Art is going to very sparse over the next few months, but I have a lot of projects I'm working on! I also upload a lot of stupid doodles that don't make it to DA over at my LJ, so if you're ever curious.

So yeah. I'm still here. Kind of! :1

Okay, come on XD If you're going to trace or redraw my art, can it NOT be one of the very few stupid, cliche dogthings I draw? Especially if the intent is to make MORE cliche dogthings?

And if you are going to do this, plz to cite your references. Seriously, I always try to mention in my artist description when I've looked at a photo for pose ideas. Not that hard.

Anyway, I'll keep THAT vague as I don't want to get in trouble or some crap. In other news, thanks for the update on the comment-glitching, guys. I am Deviantart-tarded and don't pay attention to the forums or news or anything. Which is why I have you guys! 8D

Uh, my subscription ran out D: It's not really a big deal, I guess, and I'm too cheap to renew it. Once I get some of these commissions out of the way, I might think about it.

More art coming, honestly. I just obviously can't upload the dirty stuff I've been working on to DA :x

OH HO so bad.

EDIT: Okay, smartguys, who renewed my subscription? /:) Fess up so I can love on your face.

I may have missed something here, but is anyone else experiencing the issue where a deviation that you KNOW had a bunch of comments suddenly shows up as having 0? The comments aren't hidden or anything, it just seems like it has no comments?

Elsewise I've seen deviations that say they have 1 or 2 comments and in fact have dozens. Wtf?

I have a bunch of these 0-comment deviations in my gallery, it's kind of obnoxious as I need to read some of these comments.

The Pre-AC Entry!

Tue Jul 3, 2007, 4:51 PM
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Alright, kids, I've got to run to work in a few, but for those of you who are attending the Pennsylvania National Furry Hunt--ehr... ANTHROCON, here's where I'll be, what I'll be selling, do's and don'ts, etc.

First off! I'll be arriving Thursday evening in the company of my homeslices Frisket17 and NallTWD.  I am staying in the main hotel, the Westin, in a single-bed dealie with AG Shepherd and Airu Kitsu. There will be drunken revelry. Or at least some crazy sketchtime. Possibly some Avatardedness. Candace, I'm looking at you! Your wife is just getting dragged along for the ride 8D

Hopefully I plan on doing Artist's Alley all three days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) or at the very least whenever I can get a table. I'll be selling a small handful of original pieces (including "The Courtesan"), as well as prints on regular computer paper and nice photo/print paper. I've still got some left over from last year, new ones this year are of "That Fool Moon Again", "Serpentes", "Monster's Ball", etc. I'm not usually real big on selling prints, so yeah.

I will also be selling on-the-spot sketch/conbook commissions (sketch and inked) as well as most likely two different styles of badges. One will be small, quick, rectangular color badges that are laminated with a pin backing, the other will be a more expensive die-cut style badges like I've done for people so far. We'll see if I have time for those.

So yeah! If you see me at the table artslaving away, or wandering around the con or whatnot, please stop by and say hello! I look like dis. I am short and built like a viking, wear lots of browns and blacks and oranges and have a tattoo on my shoulders shaped like a bat. Ya can't miss me! 8D I respond to "Liz" or "Skade" the quickest, but "Aureath" also works (pronounced or-ee-ath, if you were wondering :D).

Please don't run up and hug me if I don't know you. Please don't be a creepy smelly fur. Please don't regale me with stories of your character or their giant penis. It's weird.

Ugh. Okay, time to take off to work. If I think of anything else important, I'll let y'all know.

Kay, so I got time off for AC, yaaay! :D I'm still not 100% comfortable with my rooming situation (as in it would be cool if we had more people), but right now it looks like me, ~SilverPoot, and !jessnumbuh20 will be splitting it at least. Which is better than what it was. If any of my friends or acquaintances are still looking for a room, feel free to contact me.

Anyway! I don't have much time between now and then, but I was thinking of busting out some originals to sell at the con itself. I don't usually sell too many of those, most of my income comes from on-the-spot sketchbook and badge commissions, but if you're planning on going, would you think about buying some original artwork from me? Any particular characters/themes you'd like to see emphasized?

I'm not going to hold anyone to this, just looking for suggestions. Right now I have a random, somewhat-risque Iben sketch that I may color up in markers and see if it sells. But yeah. Dunno.

I'm excited! 8D
